Three Day Heat Emergency issued

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- City of Cincinnati Health Commissioner has declared a heat emergency from Wednesday July 14th through Friday July 16th.

Temperatures at this level are potentially dangerous and put individuals at risk for heat related illness if the proper precautions are not followed. A heat emergency indicates that the predicted temperature or heat index exceeds 95 degrees for an extended period of time.

It is important to check on elderly and individuals with illnesses that decrease their ability to respond to extreme heat (heart and kidney disease, high blood pressure, recent stroke, diarrhea, mental illness). Infants and small children are also at greater risk to experience heat related illness.
