The winner of the FOX19 Halloween Costume Contest is...

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - With more than 500 votes, the winner of the FOX19 Halloween Costume Contest is Mike Garibay dressed as a Hooters girl.

Mike's photo was showcased on the FOX19 Morning Show on Monday and he will take home a Volume 8 Family Guy box set!

Congrats Mike!

Loveland Opera Idol semifinalist sneak peek performance

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The semi-finalists of Cincinnati Opera’s Opera Idol competition will perform at “Opera Idol: A ‘Peek’ Performance” on Friday, June 24th in the intimate setting of the Marta Hewett Gallery, 1310 Pendleton Street, at the Pendleton Art Center.  Presented by the non-profit foundation B.J. Connective Concepts, the evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with a wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres, and guests will have a chance to meet and mingle with the singers - just one week before the Opera Idol competition finals.

Earthquake Awareness Poster Contest Winner Presentations

ALEXANDRIA, KY (FOX19)- Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) and the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management will honor 2011 Earthquake Awareness Poster Contest winners on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Grant's Lick Elementary in Alexandria, Ky.

In 2009, KYEM and the Kentucky Center for School Safety (KCSS) worked together with two Kentucky elementary school teachers to develop a KYEM Earthquake Awareness Educational Program and Earthquake Instructional Unit for third through fifth grades.  This five-hour educational awareness unit is designed to educate both children and adults in Kentucky communities and is available for download on the KYEM Earthquake Program website at www.kyem.ky.gov/earthquake/

This unit is taught each year during Earthquake Awareness Month in February.  As part of the unit, students across Kentucky were given the opportunity to create a classroom poster promoting earthquake aw

Monroe Police Department Help Locate Missing Ring

MONROE, OH (FOX19) - Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, is working with the local police department to locate a valuable lost ring of a former resident. The ring was reported missing on March 28th and is described as being of yellow gold with three large diamonds surrounded by 15 smaller diamonds in an oval shape. If you have any information, please contact Veronica Sterling, Administrator at Mount Pleasant or the Monroe Police Department. A $5,000 reward is being offered by the owner.

Spots Still Available for the CBTS Jay Bruce Baseball Camp

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – There are still spots remaining for Cincinnati Reds Right Fielder Jay Bruce’s second annual baseball camp! The Second Annual CBTS Jay Bruce Baseball Camp presented by Chiquita and Fifth Third Bank in partnership with the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum is Monday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 26th at Prasco Park from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 

Fan favorite Jay Bruce will be on site for the entire two days of camp to direct activities and provide instruction. Jay will be joined by several top prep and collegiate coaches from the greater Cincinnati area. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14.

Campers experience various stations, specializing in fundamental skills and the team concept of baseball.
